A complete guide to all my travel posts/articles about our short family holiday to Bali including: 2 accommodation reviews, flight review, a visit to the Thalasso Spa, night out at the Devdan Show and a story about the entire Bali trip with our child.
We have just returned from a short 5 night family holiday to Bali with kids (actually one kid).
So why did we choose Bali for this trip?
After returning from our Penang family holiday last year and Lewis suffering from such awful air-sickness we decided that Bali might be a good destination for this years family holiday as it is only a 3 hour flight. The proximity to Perth is one of the reasons we chose to visit Bali when Lewis was a toddler, you can read all about that trip HERE.
Well, just as I began doing some research for the Bali family holiday, the Samabe Leisure Group who include: all-inclusive Bali hotel Grand Mirage Resort and their sister hotel Samabe Bali Suites and Villas invited us to come and experience their hotels.
So after learning 5 things booking flights to Bali we arrived into Bali for 5 nights.
- There are family hotel and airline reviews:
- A selection of Things to do with Kids in… travel articles:
- And of course I have written a post encompassing our entire Bali Family Holiday which will be located on the main Our Family Travels page.

I hope that you enjoy all my travel stories about Bali with kid(s).
That pool area looks absolutely amazing. My friend who lives in Indo loves Bali and highly recommends it. Can’t wait to take the kids there one day and meet up with her. #teamIBOT
Having friends to show you around a place that they know well can really save you money – they know all the right places to visit and eat.
I almost feel like I was there with you Sally. Such a great round up of your trip.
Thanks for joining in #wednesdaywanderlust this week!
Thanks Malinda, I’m glad you’ve enjoyed your virtual holiday to Bali with us.
I love the look of that pool spraying water.
My partner Steve said it was wonderful Vanessa, it is the aquamedic pool.
I think my kids would have a ball in Bali. We talked about going when we were in Darwin because it was so cheap, but the cost of getting everyone passports was crazy, so we never did. It just stopped being a cheap option sadly.
Passport costs can be a killer Jess. I just had to get a new one for Lewis $125 – and that’s just for 1 child!
great to meet other family travelers. We are just back from a 2,5 weeks in Costa Rica. Well, we wish we had something like Bali three hours away, but for us anything similar would be at least 8 hours.
shere
But Costa Rica sounds so exotic Shere, for us to visit such places takes 24 hours.
First so jealous that Bali is only 3 hrs from you!! We loved Bali when we visited pre-kids but I’m dying to go back with our son now.
I’m sure your son would love Bali KariLyn, I don’t know any child who doesn’t get excited when they mention they are off to Bali for a holiday.
That’s a nice compilation of your Bali posts! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for stopping by Jolanta, I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the posts.
Ahhh to be only 3 hours flight from Bali…! Looks like an idyllic spot. One of these days I really need to take my kids to swim in a sea they don’t require wet suits for!
Yes it was beautiful Kate, but you have so many lovely Mediterranean Islands near you to explore with your kids.
Lovely pics! Bali is definitely on my list of places to go, but to travel from the UK is quite a trek with young kids in tow, so may have to wait till they’re a bit older… #MondayEscapes
I hear your point about the distance for travel Carly, it is the same for us to visit Europe.
Sally, what a great resource for people who might consider Bali as their next holiday destination. Sometimes it needs to be all in once place for easy access. Your overall trip looks wonderful. I went to Bali about 15 years ago and ashamed to say I only spent 3 days there as a stop off. I think I may well look into going back at some point! Thanks so much for linking up with #MondayEscapes
Thanks so much Ting I really appreciate the positive feedback about having the post as a good resource for people who are considering visitng Bali.
