Packing for Day Trips with Kids 2


When you are heading out for the day with your baby or toddle there is such much paraphernalia to pack.  So what essentials do you really need, and what do you need when they grow up and become pre-schoolers and big kids.

Packing for day trips varies a little from babies and toddlers to pre-schoolers and children.  So I have broken it into 2 lists.

Packing for Day Trips for Babies and Toddlers

  • A Bag
    • Daypack
    • Carry all
    • Nappy bag.
  • Stroller/pram.
  • For changing your baby or toddler
    • Nappies
    • Wipes,
    • Nappy sacks,
    • Disposable change mats,
    • Nappy rash cream
    • Hand sanitizer.
  • Comfort toy.
  • Drinks and Food
  • Water bottle
  • milk or formula (if not breast feeding)
  • Food -favourite snacks.
    • Prepackaged baby/toddler meal (it’s just easier when you are out)
    • Rice or corn crackers
    • Dried fruit
    • Sweet biscuit treat eg. milk arrowroot or tiny teddies
  • Spare clothes.
  • Hat.
  • Basic first aid items.
    • Band aid
    • Tissues
    • Sunscreen
  • Swimming costume and swim nappy

  • Camera, memory cards, spare batteries.
  • Money, credit card (just enough for the day).
  • Passport and travel documents unless safely stored in the hotel safe.

  • Basic first aid items
    • Sunscreen
    • Band aid,
    • Tissues,
    • Antiseptic wash
  • Camera, memory cards, spare batteries.
  • Money, credit card (just enough for the day).
  • Passport and travel documents unless safely stored in the hotel safe.
