A few years ago we went for a short holiday to Singapore with a toddler and stayed on Sentosa Island at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort.
Sentosa Island is only a short drive across the bridge, or a monorail ride or a cable car ride from Singapore.
During our time in Singapore we spent a day exploring Sentosa Island and it didn’t cost us a cent.
Exploring Sentosa Island with Toddler for FREE
To get around the island we either walked with a child or caught the free buses and trams on the island.
With a packed day bag we started with a tram ride along the beach front.
Then it was up to resort world.
We spent a lovely time just meandering through the board-walk and stores.
Then we walked up through Festive Walk admiring the gardens and fountains.
Notice the ramps by the stairs – it was easy to get about with our pram.
We discover the famous Merlion.
Then down through the pretty Merlion Park.
Before heading back to our hotel we find some old cars and carts that Lewis loved climbing in.
Overall we had a lovely FREE day out on Sentosa Island with a toddler.
Have you or would you like to explore Sentosa Island?
Please tell me about it in the comments.

Looks like a whole lot of fun. With 22 moves, we always seem to be relocating and using our holiday time in this regard, so there’s been no real time or money for overseas trips. I’m hoping that changes now we are in Perth. My travel wish list is growing and I can’t wait to get started.
Perth may feel a bit like an isolated city Raychael, but it’s close to discover the affordable South East Asia and we are on the same time zone.
It looks like a lot of fun and FREE is always good! 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend!
You can’t beat a free day out can you Lauren?
We’ve been to Singapore a few times but haven’t made it to Sentosa Island yet. Your photos were really helpful because they gave me a good idea of what’s there. I hadn’t known that there is free transportation and that there are so many things to do there.
There are now even more things to see and do Linda, than what we did a few years ago.
I have heard about this place but I didn’t know there were some fee options. Good to know. I have always wanted to visit Singapore.
Some of Singapore and Sentosa can be expensive Ruth. So it’s always good to find a way to spend the day without costs.
I went to Sentosa many years ago – but not with a toddler. Can see that it would be brilliant for kids – and clearly cheap too! Bonus! #mondayescapes
Cheap whether you are travelling with kids or without is always a bonus 🙂
Looks like you had a great time #blogfair
Thank you we did Maria.
I’m planning to go to Singapore next year, so your post came in very handy. I’ll make sure to add Sentosa Island to my list. Thank you for linking up to The Weekly Postcard.
Have a fantastic time in Singpore Anda. I would love to go back, so many more things to do and see now.
This looks really fun – I’ve never made it to Sentosa on my visits but if/when I go back with my daughter, I think she’d love it. #mondayescapes
I only stayed in Singapore for a couple of days, so Sentosa looks like a brilliant place to visit though and so child-friendly. Like the look of the park! And all for free! Even better! Thanks so much for linking up to #MondayEscapes
I think Singapore in general is child friendly, don’t you Ting. Ramps for prams and baby changing facilities everywhere.
Sentosa looks like lots of fun. Love those giant M&Ms.
So did my son Rhonda, they were cool.
My kids loved Candylicious and Hershey’s World, too. It didn’t exactly turn out free as we ended up buying a bunch of candy. Still lots of fun, though!
Yes we bought a few souvenirs from Candaylycious as well Michele.
Looks like a great day out! You don’t have to spend money when you can just explore the sights. I’ve never been to Singapore but may stop there some day. Thanks for sharing with the #BlogFair.
Yes Karen, you don’t have to always to spend a fortune to explore a new destination.
I’ve been going in and out of Sentosa so much lately that I signed up for the annual pass. Things at Sentosa are pretty pricey but you’re good at finding the free stuff! Here are more for you to check out next time you visit: There is a free cable car museum, Fort Silo is free, Sentosa boardwalk is free, Festive Hotel has a free Lego table at their lobby.
Thanks for the tips Lin. So many more things to do since we were there, I would love to go back.
Looks perfect with kids – I’ve only been to Singapore once and we didn’t have chance to get to Sentosa, but definitely a good one with a toddler. #citytripping
It was great with a toddler Cathy, and I would like to return again now that he is older.
I went to Sentosa – many years ago – so I’m sure it has changed a fair bit. We didn’t go with our daughter last time we went – I’m not sure why – there’s so much there for kids. Looks like you had a fun day out and always a bonus when it’s free!! Thanks for linking to #citytripping
This was a few years ago that we went Elizabeth so there is even more to do with kids now. I guess that’s an excuse so we can all go back 🙂
