Welcome to the fourth post in my series of Arm Chair Travel; where I share with you my favourite travel blog posts I have read throughout the month.
So grab a cuppa (or wine 😉 ), sit back in your arm-chair, and join me as I show you what I discovered in the world of travel during April 2016.
Having a successful holiday really does come down to the planning. Travel Bug shows what happens if you don’t take the time to research your accommodation including house sits.
However there are times you can plan as much as you like and you arrive to find that your hotel (no matter the price) just doesn’t even provide the basic you expect. Allane from Packing My Suitcase shares her essentials for any priced hotel room.
Before you go though you may need some special one-off pieces to get you through any situation you may encounter, but locating those products can be tricky. Cathy from Mummy Travels has spent ages finding those items that work for many occasions and shares them with us.
Once you are at your destination one of my top tips for saving money when you travel (and also getting to experience a place like a local) is to use the public transport system. However every city’s public transport system works differently. Fairlie from Feet on Foreign Land gives a detailed account of how to use Hong Kongs MTR rapid transport system.
And now let’s travel 🙂
Maria from One Tiny Leap shares how not to do Disneyland, with some great rookie mistakes to avoid.
When we travelled to Kota Kinabalu I would really have liked to experience the orangutan sanctuary in Sepilok but with a pre-schooler in-tow we settled for the Shangri-La Rasa Ria Nature Reserve. Now through Anne at Let Me Be Free Blog I can see what I missed.
Which is your favourite travel blog post from April?
Please tell me in the comments.
