Tips on packing for family holiday
But first consider:
- Where you are going.
- What activities you have planned.
- Will you need to take extra equipment eg bike, scooter, ski equipment
- The type of holiday you are planning eg. relaxation, cycling, skiing etc.
- The climate.
Then
- The type of bag you will be using.
- The number of bags you will be using.
- How much space or weight you are allocated.
Packing list for a family holiday
I find that I have a packing list for every person travelling and for each person lists within lists.
So you will find a separate list for each section of your packing requirements.
- Essentials
- Packing for the kids
- Packing for you – adults
- Clothing basics for all
- Toiletries for all the Family
- Medical supplies to pack when travelling
- Helpful items to pack
- Packing for day trips
- Packing for a picnic
- Packing for swimming with kids
Don’t Forget
Label your bags and pack copies of your documents to help you reunite with your bag in the unlikely situation of your bags going missing.

Great tips! Always good to have a game plan when you’re packing for the whole family. Labeled bags are a must for us too.
Thanks Jim, of course the other trick with having labels on your bag is to check them as you take your bag off the carousel to ensure you have icked up the right bag.

Picking one destination among the many that have been included in your list can be very challenging and a bit difficult. It is also very challenging to consider the needs and the wants of the people you would bring with you in your vacation escapade.
