My Review of Bali Dynasty Resort’s Family Facilities 4

It’s been voted in Holiday with Kids  Top 10 Family Resorts for the last seven years.  Little wonder that 90% of their clientele are from the family travel market.

Which family friendly resort is it?

The Bali Dynasty Resort located on the popular Kuta beach front on the Indonesian island of Bali.

Last week we checked out the family friendly facilities at the Bali Dynasty Resort and discovered why people have continued to love this resort for over 20 years.

The Family Facilities at Bali Dynasty Resort

The Rooms

There are seven different room types making up a total of 315 rooms at the Bali Dynasty Resort.  Four of these room types are dedicated family rooms that can accommodate up to 5 people.

As the resort was fully booked we didn’t get to see inside any of the rooms.  However we have stayed in other family resorts that offer these types of family rooms and found them to be a great option; with a privacy partition in the middle of the room, plus a second TV with game console – perfect for family holidays.

The Bali Dynasty Resort offers 6 restaurants (see below) providing no shortage of variety to tempt your fussy eater:

  • Senses
  • H2O
  • The Upper Deck @H2O
  • Golden Lotus Chinese Restaurant
  • Grace Kelly’s Irish Pub
  • Cafe Piazza
  • Queens of India
  • D’Lounge Bar

The Pool

Looking out from the aptly named H2O Restaurant is the main pool.

It is a hive of activity.  Some people are mingling around the pool bar, others are splashing about, whilst kids and parents alike are playing a game of water volley ball.

In the afternoon there are more activities, we watch an entertaining splash competition – again kids and parents participate.

A game of bingo follows up, with a humorous Balinese man displaying a very ocker accent calling the numbers.

Meanwhile some adults have retreated from the ruckus to the tranquillity of the Lazy Pool.  I seriously feel as if I had wondered off to another resort when I step inside this adults only area.

Completely different from the very lively splashing about in the Kids Water Fun Zone – which we thoroughly enjoy.  Slipping down the 3 storey high green water slide, getting drenched by the tipping bucket and having water gun fights.

Kids’ Club & The DEN

It is such fun my son Lewis finds it hard to tear himself away to dry off before heading to the Kids’ Club for a game of mini golf – part of the days scheduled activities.

Unfortunately I couldn’t get any photos whilst the kids were in the club as parents are not allowed in.  I do like how safety of the kids is a number one priority – so much so if you have children under 4 years of age you will need to hire a baby sitter (at minimal cost) to supervise your child in the kids club.  The Kids’ Club is free for all children aged 4-12 years.

For older tweens and teens (10-16 years) there is The DEN located upstairs from the Kids’ Club.  When we popped in for a look Lewis looked at The DEN with envy wishing he could join in with the PlayStation, XBox, air hockey, table tennis and pool tables.

But not to worry as Lewis has such a wonderful time in the Kids’ Club I think he completely forgets about what is upstairs.  It takes me several visits to get Lewis to leave the club and check out some of the other activities about the resort.

Tucked away in a shady corner we find a fenced playground and table tennis table.

High Flyers Bali Trapeze School

Meanwhile the bigger kids are able to learn some circus stunts at the Trapeze School.  It sure looks fun watching them swinging up high whilst also safe with ropes and netting.

Beach Club

Down on the beach we are able to relax on the hotel lounges whilst watching kids play in the sand or climb out onto the rocky groyne.

Hair Braiding

Walking back in from the Beach Club I see young girls having their hair platted.  That would save from the tears with washing their hair each night 🙂

Fish Feeding

Heading back to the lobby before our departure we pass over the pretty Koi Fish Pond.  Where every morning you can start your day by purchasing a bag of fish feed for 5000 RPH (50c AUD) – all proceeds go to a local charity.  The kids can feed the Koi fish before heading off for your own breakfast at the H2O Restaurant.
