Booking that all important, and much-needed, a holiday can feel like a breath of fresh air. However, it can also be a challenge when you want to find something that works for the entire family. Toddlers can often be unpredictable with how they will react to a foreign location, but there are now a lot of options that incorporate the comfort of their backyard!
1. Treehouse fun
It is most children´s dream to have a treehouse in their backyard and you can guarantee that you will always know where they are if their friends have one. Treehouse holidays can feel incredibly adventurous for your little one, and it doesn’t mean that you have to go back to basics either. These days you can go from camping to luxury tree houses inclusive of hot tubs, making an unforgettable holiday to add to the memory bank.
Why not opt for camping 2.0 in teepees with comfortable beds surrounded by forests, lakes and adventure? – An extreme version of the backyard for your toddler to explore. What many call ‘glamping’ has its appeals for the whole family, it allows you to bring along the haul of things that usually come with a toddler and takes away the extra stress of having to set up tents, sleeping beds etc.
3. From sandpit to beach, bucket and spade
Upgrading their usual sandpit and toys, to the real thing will give your toddlers hours of fun time whilst they try to build castles, bury parents and jump over the waves coming into the shore. Meanwhile, you can soak up the sun making the perfect, relaxing holiday for parents too.
If your toddlers enjoy playing with toy animals or acting out lions and other exotic creatures in the wild, why not take them to see the real thing? A safari is an amazing experience that will stay with the whole family forever and is a wonderful opportunity to expose your toddler to other environments.
5. Caravan – fun
As toddlers usually enjoy playing in sheds built in the garden, why not go to a good old-fashioned caravan site. Caravan holidays are often underrated, and great value for money. Your child doesn’t need all the glim and glam of a super luxurious holiday, so taking them somewhere that has access to the beach and outdoor adventures from the excitement of your compact home can create long-lasting memories for all the family.
As early age child development is at its peak in toddlers, taking them on holiday to absorb new sights, sounds whilst maintaining the comfort and familiarity at home does not have to be expensive. Whether you want to go on a caravan holiday by the beach or a safari in Africa, you will be astounded at the curiosity and excitement your toddler has. So just make sure to bring along some home comforts and a camera to embarrass them with when they are older!
