Christmas Present Ideas for Travellers 21

Just about everyone knows one  – the travel enthusiast.

You know the person.  At the mere mention of flights, hotels, or far away destinations they become excited, animated and well just won’t stop talking about travel even when your eyes glaze over.

I know exactly the type of person they are – because I’m one of them.  So what better Christmas present to buy me or any of my fellow travellers is a useful travel gadget.

But as a non traveller how do you know which travel gadget is useful?

Don’t worry I’ve created a list for you.

1. First aid kit

A well stocked medical kit is a must have item for anyone who travels from the backpacker to the luxury traveller, and there is an option to match each type of traveller.

2. Headlamps

The first time I saw these was on a contestants head of the Amazing Race.  But you don’t have to be hurtling around the world at breakneck speed to make use of these handy torches.  They are great for BBQing at night or reading a book when all the lights need to be out in the room.

3. Mobile phone mount

We all know driving while using you mobile phone is dangerous.  So keep the entire family safe when you are chatting or looking up Google maps on your road trips.  You can read how we use ours and stay safe on road trips HERE.

4. Multi-use tool

You just never know when you could do with a sharp knife or screwdriver, this compact nifty tool is great for all travellers and there is a tool to match each person.

5. Packing Cubes

For those who like to be super organised or those who need to sort and pack handy things (like charging cables).

6. Pegless Clothesline

To me this is a must-have item no matter who the traveller.  I first discovered them when I was backpacking to hang out my nightly hand washing and now I still use them to hang out our wet bathers.

7. Picnic bag

There is nothing like a well-stocked picnic basket for the camper, but don’t forget about those who like to day-trip or just want to pack a picnic.  I love my picnic bag that has a wheely cooler bag and a zip on crockery and cutlery bag.

8. Scrubba

This is a new product just launched in Australia, I told you about it recently when I gave you some tips on washing clothes when travelling.  It is a really cool gadget for any traveller, you can buy it online direct through Scrubba.

9. Sleeping bag sheet

This is a smart idea for the backpacker or camper; I can also see the benefit if you don’t want to pay for a roll-away bed knowing that there is a sofa in your hotel room for the kids.  Sleeping bag sheets are made of cotton or silk (I had a silk one that rolled up really small when I was backpacking).

10. Toiletry bags

I find there are so many toiletry items to pack, I want to be able to just pick up a bag and head straight to the bathroom.
