Welcome to the third post in my new series of Arm Chair Travel; where I share with you my favourite travel blog posts I have read throughout the month.
So grab a cuppa (or wine 😉 ), sit back in your arm-chair, and join me as I show you what I discovered in the world of travel during March 2016.
With Toddlers on Tour main focus being travel tips for travel with kids I am always on the look out for some new tried and tested travel tips. Smilinglookouthares her 10 Helpful Travel Tips.
10 Tried & Tested Travel Tips I Swear by!
As a kid my parents took my on lots of camping trips around Australia we got to see Big Banana’s, the Largest Rocking Horse, and giant Pineapples to name a few. But nothing beats this park in Taiwan that Constance from Foreign Sanctuary shares.
If the Shoe Fits…! – ‘Cinderella High-Heel Church’ in Budai, Taiwan
As I got older I extended my travels further overseas and I have travelled around a lot but so far Russia has eluded me, even though it is really on my wish list. But I don’t won’t to travel in Russia as Kidding Herself did.
If all that stress of travelling through Russia got you down. I find I can always count on Up, Up and Bear to cheer me up. Go and check out Hung’s adventures in Maui for a chuckle.
Hana and I went streaking in Maui. Only one of us came back.
For me one of the great things about visiting all these different destinations is being able to experience and learn about different cultures; by doing that I think it helps us all to understand our individual ways of life and therefore live more harmoniously. Last week in Australia it was Harmony Day, a day where we recognise all the various nationalities that make up our great country. If you can’t get away to travel taking part in one of the Harmony Day celebrations is a fun way to try out some of these cultures. Lyn from A Hole in My Shoe shares her Harmony Day celebration.
Which is your favourite travel blog post from March?
Please tell me in the comments.
Sally, thank you so much for sharing my article on the Harmony Day events that I attended. I am so glad you enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the article Constance wrote about the Cinderella High-Heel Church, being shoe related it caught my eye as soon as I saw her post and is very share worthy. I love this weekly Arm Chair Travel you are now featuring, great idea.
Thank you Lyn and it was a pleasure to feature your story on Harmony Day. Whilst my son had to go to school in orange to recognise the day I wasn’t aware of the celebrations that were on about town. Next year I am keeping an eye out for them as they looked like so much fun.
Thank you Sally for the shout-out. Have an awesome weekend! I’m going to arm-chair travel now 🙂
You’re welcome Hung I hope you enjoyed the other travel blog posts.
Oooooh! Cool! Thank you very much for the mention. Glad you enjoyed it. I promise Russia isn’t really that bad, in case you ever make it out this way!
The post that caught my eye this month was this one, because reading about the times when travel experiences are not as we expect is just as interesting to me as reading about the flat out fabulous visits: https://beatravelling.wordpress.com/2016/03/22/dog-sledding-svalbard-longyearbyen-norway-arctic/
That’s so good to hear because Russia really is on my must visit list. I have been wanting to go since before kids.
I love how Harmony Day is observed in the schools. My boys forgot to wear orange, though. They did have a lovely Aboriginal artist visit the school and make a mural.
How wonderful Grace, I love Aboriginal art.
